New cross-platform IDE
This new version of IAR Embedded Workbench is based on the Qt framework and works on both Linux and Windows. Project creation and the build process remain the same as in previous versions.
The new IDE provides faster startup and end of debug sessions and improved device selection, with search functionality.
Note: The IDE has gone through a comprehensive redesign in version 10.10, which in some cases might lead to unexpected behavior in the IDE.
Commuter license
The IAR cloud-based licensing system includes an offline-usage feature that allows you to temporarily check out your Named Users or capacity tokens for a maximum period of seven days. During this time, the license entitlements are stored and validated locally on the host machine.
C++20 support
The IAR C/C++ compiler now by default accepts source code written in the C++20 standard. In addition, when using the Libc++ C++20 library, most features of C++20 are supported.
Adding existing folders and files to a project
Existing folders and files can be added to a project via drag and drop. Synchronization with a folder on disk can be set up.
Improved CMake import (Attach to pre-configured CMake directory)
It is now possible to attach to an existing, pre-configured CMake structure, for use with, for example, Zephyr projects and the West build system.
Simplified C-SPY launch for cspybat and VS Code
It is now possible to generate a launch.json file, to be used by both cspybat and VS Code. This file is sufficient as input argument to start a debug session with cspybat and it can be used as-is, with VS Code.
Improved Timeline window
The Timeline window has a new look and design.
Arm China STAR-MC3
The Arm China STAR-MC3 processor based on the Arm v8.1-M architecture is now supported.
Inline C-STAT code completion via LSP
Inline C-STAT code completion via LSP provides real-time rule guidance and quick-fix suggestions directly in the editor, catching MISRA and CERT violations as you type.
